Passive House Canada approves Offsite Construction

Chris Ballard: A passionate advocate for better buildings, Passive House Canada CEO Chris Ballard led high-profile elected positions within the Ontario government, including Ontario’s Minister of Environment and Climate Change, where he implemented the government’s plan for a clean environment and a sustainable economy. He was also Ontario’s Minister of Housing and Minister Responsible for the province’s Poverty Reduction Strategy. His leadership across journalism, communications and public affairs includes terms as President and Board member of the Public Affairs Association of Canada, and Board member of the Consumers Council of Canada. He also served as a municipal councillor in Aurora, Ontario.

Offsite Dirt hosts, Audree Grubesic and Mark Wille, talk about the benefits of Passive House design, principles along with offsite construction. Chris is convinced we all need to build with these practices moving forward. He has been advocating for this construction over 20+ years after having his brother build with offsite construction on his own home.

Passive House Canada is having their annual conference in Hamilton, Ontario Canada on May 8-10, 2023 and Chris is super excited about the amount of interest already taking place. This event will be in person but also available online for those unable to get away.
